Cystoscopy with Bladder Biopsies

During the course of your evaluation and treatment you have been found to have a lesion in your bladder and we have arranged for you to undergo biopsy of this lesion and fulguration.

What is Bladder Biopsy?

We will remove a small portion of bladder tissue where it appears to be suspicious and the tissue will then be sent to pathologist for examination.

How the Biopsy will be done?

It will be done in our office under local anesthesia.

Before the procedure:

PLEASE DO NOT TAKE ANY BLOOD THINNING MEDICATIONS FOR 7 DAYS PRIOR TO YOUR SEDATIVE PROCEDURE (Aspirin, Coumadin, Plavix, Percentine, Lovenox or Vitamin E).

Procedure:

After you are comfortable, cystocopy will be performed and using biopsy forceps, suspicious area in your bladder will be removed. The biopsy site will be then fulgarated to stop the bleeding.
